[News] JUNE 20 GOLF FUNDRAISER: Confirmed Information

The good folks at Coaches have done a fantastic job setting up the major parts of this golf outing that benefits the trail.  Now, it's our turn to fill in the additional pieces. ALL proceeds will benefit the Heart of Ohio Trail.  We are very grateful for this big effort from our friends at Coaches.

The flyer is attached.  Please share it widely.  We will be getting printed color copies, so if you need some of those, please let me know.  Of course, if you wish to print the flyer in color and post it, that's fine, too. If your e-mail system removes attachments, please check the website to download a copy later today.

I am including contact for each type of participation.  If you have questions or are not sure who to contact, feel free to contact me, and I'll relay info to Bobby or one of the other Trail officers as needed.  Feel free to share this mail as applicable.

Event information:
Saturday, June 20, Wyandotte Golf Course, 3032 Columbus Road, Centerburg.  This is the course near the airport.  The first tee time is 11 a.m.  

We will need 4 volunteers at a time who can be at the course as early as 9 a.m., but please arrive by 10, to help set up the finishing touches.  Coaches will be handling the registration.  During the day, volunteers are needed to drive the beverage cart.  The golfing part will wrap up around 3-4 in the afternoon, so volunteers can also help pack up materials.  Volunteers can work the whole day or shorter periods, so if you can't be there for setup, you are welcome to come later to drive the beverage cart or pack up.  If you can volunteer, please let me know as soon as possible, and specify when you can be there.  This will help us be sure the schedule is filled.  [Contact for this item:  Janis]

At the end of the golf portion, the party will move to Coaches for the food (pizza and wings).  

The player registration fee is $65 per person, payable at registration, and it includes golf, cart use, food, beverages, golf shirt, and chance to win prizes.  There will be numerous fundraising activities.  Sales of tickets for the 50/50 drawing will run through the conclusion of golf.  [Player/team registration info contact:  Bobby]

A person or company may sponsor a tee for $50 (or more, if desired), for which a tee poster will advertise the sponsor on that day.  A hole can have multiple sponsors.  We would like to invite many persons and businesses to do this, but we want to avoid duplication.  If you want to make the contact with a potential sponsor or would like someone else to do so, please let me know, and please let me know whether they say yes or no so we don't ask someone again who has already accepted OR declined.  There will be a list of sponsors on the website, updated as they commit.  If you want to "think outside the box" for sponsors, perhaps you know someone who will be there who is having a birthday or anniversary or needs a "best wishes" booster that would look good on a poster.  Remember, the sponsors will also be listed on our trail website for at least a year, too.  [Contact Bobby to sponsor]

Heart of Ohio Trail, Inc. is a 501(c)3 (Internal Revenue Code) non-profit organization.  This means all cash donations and all prize donations (at fair market value) are tax-deductable as specified in the IR Code.  Please share this information with your friends and business buddies considering making a donation.  The organization's EIN is 31-1748717.  Also note that we will be glad to list donors and even put a link or logo on our thank-you page of the web site.  

We will definitely need: 
- donations of items for raffle gifts  such as gift certificates (any kind of business) and new items (still looking for a way to "regift" that extra toaster, still in its box, that Aunt Gladys sent you last Christmas?)    (contact Bobby)

- "good, old-fashioned cash" can be used to buy prizes or become part of a prize (YES, cash may be in the form of a check)   (Cash or checks can go to Bobby, or you can hand checks to a Trail officer or mail them to Coaches or the Trail addresses at the top of this note)

- word-of-mouth promotion  

- people to place flyers anywhere in Central Ohio, especially where people gather who love trails, golf, the outdoors...people like you!
