Good morning, friends of the Trail,

Coaches, the sports bar in Centerburg across from the Post Office, has organized golf outings for the past few years.  Last year was the first time they worked with the trail group to make the outing a benefit for the trail.  They will be doing this again, VERY soon.

The event will be June 20.  The trail group officers will be meeting with the good folks at Coaches this evening to work out additional details.  

We don't know for sure, yet, if it will be exactly like the 2008 event, so please watch this list and the web site for the most current information.  

For your consideration and inspiration:  Last year's event was at Wyandotte Golf Course and was a 4 person scramble that began at 1 p.m.  The registration fee was $65 per person, payable at registration, and it included golf, cart use, food, beverages, golf shirt, and chance to win prizes.  There were also raffle gifts and a live auction, and "numerous other fundraising activities."  ALL proceeds benefitted the Heart of Ohio Trail.  A person or company could sponsor a tee for $50, for which a tee poster advertised the sponsor on that day.  If a business or individual wished to sponsor a team, Coaches vowed to fill it.  

For the next section, this is (WOW!) very important:  Heart of Ohio Trail, Inc. is a 501(c)3 (Internal Revenue Code) non-profit organization.  This means all cash donations and all prize donations (at fair market value) are tax-deductable.  Please share this information with your friends and business buddies considering making a donation.  The organization's EIN is 31-1748717.  Also note that we will be glad to list donors and even put a link or logo on our thank-you page of the web site.


We will definitely need:
    - donations of items for raffle gifts  such as gift certificates (any kind of business) and new items (still looking for a way to "regift" that extra toaster, still in its box, that Aunt Gladys sent you last Christmas?)
    - "good, old-fashioned cash" can be used to buy prizes or become part of a prize
    - VOLUNTEERS, whether you come to work or play or watch, and in any case, you can buy raffle tickets that day
    - word-of-mouth promotion to your friends, whether they play golf or not
    - people to place flyers (when available) anywhere in Central Ohio, especially where people gather who love trails, golf, the outdoors...people like you!
