Dear Kerry.  You are correct that voters passed a modest 0.35 mil levy for
parks and trails last November.  Construction (paving, drainage, bollards,
signage, bridge work, parking lots, etc.) of the Heart of Ohio Trail will
require the use of a substantial amount of the funding generated by the
levy.  Since the park district is not adding/hiring any new staff to help
with maintenance of the Heart of Ohio Trail, Kokosing Gap Trail, Mohican
Valley Trail and associated trail connectors & parks, the park district will
continue to rely on our partners, like the Heart of Ohio Trail Association,
to assist us with trail maintenance (such as tree clearing, trimming, mowing
etc.) and monitoring.  Additionally, it's my understanding that the Heart of
Ohio Trail Association offers activities/programs in the Centerburg
community, including sponsorship of 5k runs/races, etc. on the trail (which
may require the need for funds).

This Thursday we'll once again be meeting at the old Centerburg High School,
South Preston Street 7:00PM.  One main topic of event will be our upcoming
fund raiser, SouperBowl, February 1st.  See the attached flier.
