[Heart of Ohio Trail News & web update notices]

A couple of things...good news:  ODNR has awarded us $150,000 for the rehab
of the two bridges east of Thayer Road through their Recreation Trails
Program.  Here's a link to the press release:

You'll recall that we didn't get funded last year under that program.  ;o)
 
Secondly, Dave Beck informed me late in the day that there are still a
couple of trees down east of Simmons Church Rd.

If anyone is not familiar with the Horse Park location, it is on Thayer
Road, across from the county composting facility (old landfill).   Where
Thayer Rd. meets Rt. 3, there is a sign pointing to the county facility.
You could park in the Park while helping clear the trail.
 
Ken asked us to bring appropriate tools such as chainsaws.  As with all
trail clearing activities, you may want to wear work gloves, clothes that
protect you from briars and poison ivy, etc.

Hi Sandra. I have planned a work party for Saturday(9-12am) to clear the
upper part of the trail. Sorry I,m so late with info. I don't think there is
too much, but we will try to clean up. I hope to get a regular group to work
when we need them. Ken
