A recreation and transportation resource in beautiful Knox County, Ohio

On Saturday, January 7, volunteers from the "Trail Friends" group Heart of Ohio Trails, Inc., will be at Rumpke Recycling Center, 301 Columbus Road in Mount Vernon to receive retired Christmas trees for recycling. From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., people may bring their real trees to this location after removing all decorations from the trees. Some of the trees will be shared with the Knox Fish and Game Association to enhance fish habitat in the lakes at Foundation Park. The remaining trees will be chipped for disposal. There is no fee, but cash donations are welcomed and will help support ongoing maintenance of the trail. Heart of Ohio Trails, Inc., is a non-profit corporation under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
